Designing our own kitchen gave so much freedom in creativity. When we first walked into this space, I said “well I don’t feel bad ripping everything out!” Because that was just what we wanted to do, to make it our own. The day we closed on the house, demo began!

The Work –

Gutted
Cut out the stippled ceilings and put up all new drywall (the longest process of mudding, sanding and painting)
Removed the garden window, resized the opening to accommodate more cabinet space and filled in with a casement window
Ripped out the vinyl and carpeting and replaced with hardwood
Installed new cabinets, countertops, stove, range hood, sink and faucet, built in microwave and dishwasher
Tiled the back wall with a 6×6 white subway tile
Mounted oak floating shelves
Wired in wall sconces and new lighting
